Dear Liza

Short 4:04

Synopsis:

DEAR LIZA is a sketch-comedy retelling of my families favorite campfire song. A silly and at times annoying little earworm called, "There's a Hole in the Bucket."

Director - Adam Harper

After getting a mostly useless BFA in Theater I moved to New York where I did acting grind for 14 years, appearing in THE MARVELOUS MRS. MAISEL, THE BLACKLIST, UNCOUPLED a handful of Lifetime movies and loads of commercials.

When you are solely in front of the camera you get a bit of a pass as a creative. As an actor you are only as good as the material, or you receive grace because the project was a commercial, the production was rushed or low-budget. But it's different here, where I am making my own content and wear the hats of writer / director / editor / actor and producer, it's my skin in the game. And I like that.

Director Statement

Everything feels so dark these days. There is a foreboding sense of dread in the news cycle and that negativity and paranoia has infected TV and Film.

With DEAR LIZA I wanted to create something that goes against that trend. I wanted my film to be bright, warm, funny, optimistic and nostalgic. A little movie not heavy-handed in it's morality or message, but a hopeful, positive bit of pop-art about people who love each other.

DEAR LIZA was also made for my Dad. Really that whole side of my family, who are kind, funny, wholesome, charming folk who drink coffee with flavored heavy cream and a side of cinnamon rolls.
